Cutting costs is the primary advantage of laying off employees. When mass layoffs occur, companies are able to drastically reduce the amount of money spent on employee compensation, benefits packages, etc. Layoffs can help a company regain a better economic standing and gain better control of their finances.

However, we should also look at the disadvantages. Kokemuller, N. (n.d.) addressed some of those disadvantages. In his article, The Disadvantages of a Layoff he highlighted legal risks, lower morale, and distrust as three disadvantages. For those that may have not already shared in another post, from your perspective or research, what are some other disadvantages to layoffs? Explain.
