Question: What are some of the things you think are important to know for incoming student starting college in general and specifically to Prince George's Community College? For this assignment, you will design a brochure or shoot a commercial to assist an incoming student in their transition from high school to college.

The function of a brochure or commercial is to create interest to the reader/viewer. The point is to hook your audience into reading the whole brochure or watching the entire commercial and subsequently registering for PAS 1000. Remember, your audience is important when designing a brochure and shooting your commercia! This First Year Experience (FYE) brochure/commercial is to help future PGCC students make an easier transition to college.

Make the brochure/commercial as personalized as possible! This brochure/commercial can be serious or humorous. On a separate/attached sheet, site your sources.

Directions

For this assignment, you will design a brochure or shoot a commercial to assist in the transition from high school to college. Your brochure or video will consist of your:

learning experiences in your first semester,
ways to avoid mistakes in your second semester.
Please add your personal experiences, and perhaps a quote from another student.

Guidelines

Here are some topics you may choose for your brochure, or you can choose any topic from the textbook that may be relevant to you. Please choose a minimum of three topics (max 5):

Submit a tri-fold 2-sided brochure or a 60-90 second commercial.
Your brochure should be three panels on each side (double-sided). One panel will be your cover/title page and one will be the back panel with information about the school and/or PAS department contact information.
You need to add pictures.
Your content needs to reflect what's requested in the assignment.
Don't use 'I'; this is a brochure to students whom you do not know.
Your assignment should contain proper grammar and be free of spelling errors.
