To be a good leader, you must guide your people to quality decisions and successful solutions to problems. As leaders, we paint with a bigger brush-the decision we make impact more people. Every day leaders are faced with issues, tasks, and on-going projects that will require a decision to be made. Leaders must be able to discern which issues need to be addressed immediately and which can wait, making that decision alone requires effectiveness. Globalization has no doubt increased the complexity and challenges of decision making in the global business environment.

When an issue arises with an organization the manager/leader should ideally be to looking at it objectively. There will be issues that require a decision to be made over time, you will have time to fact find, weigh out the pros and cons, meet with the necessary parties and reach a strong conclusion. Development of the manager/leader and their ability to be effective decision-makers should be a process with continual training. Even the most experienced managers/leaders need a training program when they join a new organization to assure their decision- making is in line with the new standards.
