Problem

It is widely claimed that the U.S. Immigration system is broken. Record numbers of foreign citizens are crossing U.S. borders and requesting asylum. Over 90% of the requests will be denied and most of those requesting asylum will be sent back to their home countries. But the process might take years. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of asylum seekers will need jobs, housing, schools for their kids, etc. At the same time, there is a severe shortage of workers to take jobs on farms, in hotels, retirement homes and elsewhere. There are a number of proposed solutions on the left and right. What are the pros and cons of each and how do you evaluate them? What is the Best solution?
