Her history includes a kidney transplant 6 months ago and she takes azathioprine and prednisone and famotidine. She currently has a 20g PIV in her L hand. Her weight is 33kg. Her latest vitals are: Temp 37.90C, HR 80, BP 118/78; RR 22; sp02 99% on room air. She currently rates her pain at a 3 out of 10 on the numeric pain scale.
The physician has ordered 300mg of ibuprofen Q6hrs for pain/fever. Is this a safe medication for your patient? Why or why not?
