Literature Review research paper

The whole point of research is to study something that hasn't been researched before. So the point of a literal view is to see what has been done. This serves two purposes. One, to show you what hasn't been done so you can actually go out and do that and add to the field, or two, to show you what is likely going to be the results of your findings based on similar but not the same research. A literature review is not going to be on your exact topic. So if you're looking at what is the effect of cockpit configuration on willingness to fly, there's unlikely going to be literature that has already done that. So if it's already been done, why would you be redoing it? So you're going to look at a scientific synthesis of what all the previous research has been done in related, but not the exact same topic area. So it doesn't include your own personal opinions and beliefs. If you are looking at autonomous airplanes and you feel they're unsafe, this is not the area where you get to express those opinions and beliefs. As a scientific writer, you are writing about what you have found in other research studies. You don't make claims or matter of fact statements without citations to back them up. So now, if I want to look at what is the effect of cockpit configuration on passenger willingness to fly, I may want to do a lot of research about perceptions. What are people's perceptions of automation? Do they trust automation?
