A 57 yo male has had 5 kidney stones in the last 25 years. He was referred to you for kidney stone prevention. Three of his five stones were collected for analysis and were tested to be calcium oxalate stones. He currently drinks 3 L fluid daily. He eats cheese, sausage, crackers, and milk for breakfast, a meat and cheese sandwich on wheat bread with a handful of nuts for lunch, and dinner usually includes a protein, vegetable, and starch. He has a glass of milk with cookies after dinner. He also enjoys fruit pies like apple, rhubarb, and cherry.
