Case Study: Intervention activity:

Improving reading comprehension, phonics, and phonemic awareness in the early grades through multi-sensory instruction. Speaking, listening, reading, and an exercise involving touch or movement are all included in multi-sensory instruction (Center for Effective Reading Instruction & International Dyslexia Association, 2017). The use of letter manipulatives can help kids practice combining sounds. These are little pieces of paper or letter forms that have been pre-made with unique sounds on them. Students build words or syllables using the individual letters. By beginning with one sound and introducing each additional sound one at a time using this technique, they are able to work gradually. It will help to further solidify the sounds the learner is working with if they can say the sounds aloud as they put the word together.

Remediation activity:

Letter-Sounds Reteach with Visuals:

A picture with a name that starts with the letter-sound you wish to teach, such as a snake for /s/, should be displayed. Children should be asked to identify the sound they hear at the beginning of the word when you say the picture name (snake). (/s/) Recite the image's name and the first letter of each word. (snake, /s/) Children should repeat. The letter(s) that stand for the first sound should be written or displayed. (s) Ask a child to repeat after you the name of the picture, including the first letter and sound. (snake, s, and s) Show other images whose names start with the same sound and spelling.

Obtain feedback on the effectiveness of your implementation of the literacy intervention and remediation activities.
Discuss the students' responses to the activities and what was effective in helping students practice their literacy skills.
Identify potential areas for change or improvement in the literacy intervention and remediation activities based on the student response and outcomes.

• Reflect on your execution of the literacy intervention and remediation activities and their effectiveness. Include a discussion of both successes and challenges as well as changes you would make if implementing the activities again.
