Assignment:

Incredibly, TedTalk was filmed way back in 2006, considering that many of Sir Ken Robinson's points are still of issue today, nearly two decades later.

In the most viewed TedTalk video of all time, Sir Ken Robinson poses the question, "Do schools kill creativity?". He also tells us how we got here and some ways we may want to rethink the whole thing.

My lecture video addresses similar concerns and offers a slightly different viewpoint within the context of thinking and intelligence.

This is a compelling video, especially toward the end. Make sure you watch it in its entirety with no other distractions present.

  • After watching the TedTalk video by Sir Ken Robinson, what are the key takeaways relevant to thinking and intelligence?
  • After watching this week's lecture video, what concepts support and expand upon Sir Ken Robinson's presentation?
  • Explain how your experience went within the context of these two videos and your intelligences presented in my lecture video. Elaborate on how critical and creative thinking was prioritized or diminished within your educational experience.
  • Exercise your creativity and lean on sources like Sir Ken Robinson's over video on "How to escape education's death valley" on how to start fixing this issue in today's educational system. Note: while we no longer have No Child Left Behind, we have new challenges similar to what Sir Ken Robinson presents in this more recent TedTalk video.
