Carl Parsons is an 88 year old retired agriculture professor who still actively works on his ranch. He is healthy considering his age with chronic a-fib and osteoporosis. Carlwas outside working when he sustained a fall and immediately had left hip pain and inability to move his left lower extremity. He is admitted for surgery, ORIF of his left hip. Carl will need to be admitted to the unit, have pain medication administered and will need to be prepared for surgery.
