She also had left eyebrow and upper eyelid ptosis due to Bell's palsy. The patient was seen in the ophthalmologist's office upon recommendation of her primary care physician. The physician explained the proposed blepharoplasty to treat the bilateral upper eyelid dermatochalasis, which was worse on the left, and the procedure to repair the paralytic ptosis of the left upper eyelid. The patient signed the consent for surgery and agreed to a surgery date two weeks later at a local hospital for the outpatient procedure.
