Assignment: Living Wage Bill

Introduction

As we have learned in this unit, income and occupational status are important factors that can influence health. We have experienced increasing inflation rates in recent months, making it more difficult for individuals to make "ends meet". In response to this, Senator Steve Padilla of Chula Vista introduced a Senate Bill that would require California to create a "living wage". The state would be required to calculate the amount that would be needed in order to allow California citizens to have the wages they need for affordable housing and basic necessities.
