a. Diploid organisms contain only one copy of chromosomes in their nuclei.

b. The nuclei of diploid organisms contains two copies of each chromosome, one from mom and one from dad.

c. Diploid organisms are heterozygous for a trait, meaning they contain one of each allele type.

d. A diploid organism contains sister chromatids, which are two chromosomes (one from each parent) that are the same length, have the same centromere position, and carry genes controlling the same characteristics.
