Global management teams are a collections of managers from different countries who depend on each other to collaborate to reach the company's desired goals. It is important for team members to work together for the company's success, this can be made possible by technology. Global management teams needs global integration between HQ, subsidiaries, transnational project teams that operate on virtual basis. Virtual global team is made up of network structure, it comprises people from around the world that conduct meetings and exchange information through the internet, Global management teams are cost savings.
The challenges global management teams face includes cultural misunderstandings from cultural differences, geographic dispersal, language and communication problems and variations in in technology. Team members must undergo several virtual team training in order to be effective and efficient. Managing transnational teams, virtual or physical requires integration of diverse pool of cultural values, traditions and norms in order to be competitive. The tasks for global business teams includes cultivating trust among members overcoming communication barriers, aligning goals of individual team members, obtaining clarity regarding team objectives and ensuring that the team possesses necessary knowledge and skills. On page 329 are the recommendations for improving global teamwork.
Membership in organized labor in the USA and Europe declined since the 1980s. In 2006, the international trade union confederation was formed, it comprises ICFTU, world confederation of labor and eight other national trade union organizations It represents 168 million workers in 2012 through its 308 affiliations in155 countries. The objective is to provide a countervailing force in society and protect workers rights. It is important that global team members work in harmony with local industrial relations systems.

1.) How can you be a mentor to an expatriate manager overseas so that his or her reentry to USA after several years overseas can be smooth without reverse culture shock?
2.) What are the challenges faced by virtual global management teams?
