Southampton Residential Facility is one of the most extensive facilities in the Midwestern United States; it has over 800 residents. These residents have diverse conditions, including chronic diseases, memory loss, hearing defects, mobility issues, and being bedridden. About a third of them have advanced directives, and the rest have medical power of attorney or no directives at all.
Some of the residents have not seen their loved ones for a long time. The facility has been facing communication issues with residents, which often lead to violations and legal liabilities. Vital information must be relayed to these residents for decisions-making purposes.
The facility has been unilaterally making decisions for some of its residents. Recently, the facility has been plagued with lawsuits that must be addressed immediately. Consider the following questions: What is the importance of sharing information with residents?
