Chapter 2) Despite being mandated by IDEA, the concept of mainstreaming has remained controversial, particularly among regular classroom teachers. What are the reasons for this controversy? How would you respond if you found out that your classroom was going to be mainstreamed?
Chapter 3) Sadker and Zittelman (2012) suggest that teachers are currently educating students in the midst of "culture wars" involving how diversity should be recognized in schools. What are the major arguments of the proponents of multiculturalism? What are the major arguments of multiculturalism's opponents?
