Assignment: Stroke
George is a 67 year old librarian whose passion (besides books) is music. He retired last year after having had a heart attack (which left him with atrial fibrillation), so has enjoyed having the time to learn new genres of music, which he plays on the piano. He has just recently decided to take up art. He's always enjoyed doodling and photography. With the new computer technology, he figures he can do some fun things in combining his doodles with pictures. It's all good for his brain!
Yesterday, his friend Pat came by to pick up George as they had planned to see the new Dali exhibit. (George When she got to George's, George seemed confused. It appeared he had completely forgotten about any plans. When Pat tried to explain that they had a Dali date, George didn't understand her. Even scarier, he didn't make any sense. He wasn't slurring his speech (George does like his gin and French cigarettes), but rather the words he chose didn't make sense. As talking didn't work, Pat got a piece of paper and pen and wrote "Dali date today - remember. Are you OK?" so George could read it. Unfortunately, this didn't work either.
Pat was afraid George was having a stroke, so called 911.
