Case Study: 16-year-old, Caucasian female, who is having irregular periods, vaginal discharge, and burning urination. She is here with her stepfather and her half-sister. They recently moved to the area from Kentucky to be with family. K. M.'s family is in the process of applying for Illinois AllKids insurance (state insurance), but in the meantime, they were able to find your clinic for walk-in. During the visit, a focused physical exam is conducted and her abdomen is soft, nontender; dermatological exam reveals acne and coarse hair on her chin. Her BMI is 34.8. The patient and stepfather declined an external genitalia examination. The patient's medical history includes constipation, irregular menstrual cycles since she was 12 years old. She admits to being sexually active, with two partners and has no STI concerns.
