You are the financial adviser for John and Michelle Jones. You receive a call from a distressed Michelle saying that John is in hospital. She has been trying to access his bank account in order to pay for some medical bills, for food and other expenses, but the bank has not allowed her to do so, because she is not a signatory to the account.

  • Michelle tells you that John was rushed to hospital suffering from a brain haemorrhage. He has remained in hospital since then, wafting in and out of consciousness. John has not appointed a power of attorney or guardian.
