We have been focusing quite a bit on the upcoming mid-term elections, discussed previously, the president's party typically loses seats in Congress during these election cycles. Even so, the vast majority of U.S Representatives and Senators will be re-elected if history is any guide. A recent Gallup Poll measured public approval of Congress at 12%. This confirms other recent polls that show public approval of Congress at an all-time low. However, people tend to generally approve of their own congressional representatives and rate their performance much higher. What accounts for this apparent contradiction?
