Wellness Event Planning & Promotion Assignment
Objective: Plan and promote a community wellness event related to a topic that you are interested

Topic: Diabetes: Controlling Blood Sugar Levels

Instructions:

Choose a health/wellness topic that you are interested in and decide what kind of event you want to plan. Who is your target audience (be specific)?

Enter your topic, type of event, & target audience using the survey in the Week 2 Tasks folder.
No two students can have the same topic, so get your first choice entered early!

Create a comprehensive timeline - assume that you have 3 months to until the event date. The timeline should include all of the details: from booking a large enough space to promoting the event to compiling evaluation results at the end.

Submit your pdf file to the associated Week 3 Tasks folder.
Create an Event Fact Sheet. Include all details of the event, including presentation materials, props, & electronic equipment. (Don't forget about chairs, tables, pens, etc.) (Sample provided on Bb)
Provide an estimated cost for materials. (Use resources like Office Depot, Staples, etc.)
For purposes of this assignment, we will assume that you are able to use the space you'd like for free, but have a tight budget for materials and advertising.
Create an event promotion plan, including dates & deadlines. Things to consider: How will you promote this event to your community? What does your budget allow for? Where, when, how do things get posted, emailed, etc.?

Prepare materials that promote your event\

Create a flyer that promotes your event (Must include graphics and be visually appealing, along with providing the reader with all necessary information.)

Please create the following items in Word (and upload as one Word document)

Create 4 different Facebook posts that promote your event (3 sentences max)
Create 4 different Tweets (max of 140 characters - visit www.Twitter.com to learn more)
