Some key vocabulary you must know for this section are: fallacies, refute, and counter argument. On a word document please complete this assignment: Tell me your topic and stance again.

Then, tell me the opposing side of the topic (counter argument), then list at least 3 reasons (you may list more) for the opposing argument. For each reason you list, tell me why that reason does NOT convince you to be on the opposing side. Here is an example-please review it carefully.

Topic- parents spanking children Stance- for Opposing side (counter argument)- people against spanking children Reasons for opposing side: people believe it diminishes a child's self confidence, believe it is a kind of abuse, believe it destroys parent/child relationship. These reasons do not convince me to be on the opposing side because: spanking teaches children to be disciplined so they can accomplish their goals and dreams, spanking is not abuse if done correctly which the majority parents know and understand because of love for child.

Lastly, discipline can improve parent/child relationship because children understand that parents love their children as a parent and not as a friend. It forms boundaries that keep children safe from harm. Here is an example. As you can tell, it is not long. It is to the point and shows my understanding of a counter argument and refutation.
