-How can you apply this type of analysis and observation as a manager?

Scenario #1-

Zeke, a very bright and book-smart individual, was hired as a temp at a firm to assist trainers in editing training documentation and presentations. After about a week or two, John's accuracy and attention to detail became sloppy, and he works slower and slower. He seems bored.

Based on the video you watched, how would you motivate this employee to be more accurate? Why?
What are two coaching questions you could ask to get a better handle on the situation?
How would you follow-up to make sure the behavior changed?

Scenario #2-

Lilana, an established and high performing employee, recently went through a complicated surgery, and her work performance has considerably diminished. She is aware and concerned of this change, and asks for your advice.

Based on this scenario, is Lilana more likely to be extrinsically or intrinsically motivated? Why?
What theory best represents this situation, and which level is Maggie presenting at?
