He weighs 125 kg and is 5'6 in. tall.
1. Calculate his dosing weight.
2. If his recommended caloric intake is 25 kcal/kg/day, calculate his total kcal/day.
3. The patient has an NG tube. Using a 2kcal/ml formula, and using a continuous feeding mechanism,, recommend a tube feeding regimen for this patient.
4. Calculate the amount of additional free water necessary to be delivered along with the tube feeding? What if the patient is receiving vancomycin 1.5 g in 250 mL q12h and Primaxin 500 mg IV q6h (100 ml bags)?
5. If the tube feeding is 15% protein, what is the non-protein:nitrogen ratio for this feeding?
6. If the tube feeding is 60% carbohydrate, what is the glucose infusion rate?
