Water is supplied steadily at 150 ft^2/s to a hydraulic turbine through a 3ft diamter inlet pipe and discharged through a 4ft inside diameter exit pipe. If the pressure drop from the inlet to the exit of the turbines is 70 psi and the turbine develops 2500hp (1hp=550 ft*lb/s), determine (a) the power lost and (b) the mechanical efficiency of the turbine. Neglect the potential energy change.
