Water flows from a large tank through a 20-m long, 3 cm by 2 cm rectangular pipe. Flow exits from the tube with velocity 2 m/s when the water level in the tank is 8 m above the pipe exit. The sum of minor losses for this flow is 22. If the pipe length is extended by 10 m, what is the new water level (m) required to keep the flow velocity the same? Sketch the system and identify the end points of a streamline for the energy balance.
