In the interview with Dan Rather, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser summed up his beliefs about Jihadism and Americanism: "Our core message is that the key to defeating radicalism among the Muslim communities, is the idea of liberty and freedom."

What is your opinion of Dr. Jasser's contention that some elements of the Muslim community pose a grave danger to the United States? Dr. Jasser points out that even though Muslims comprise only 1.5% of the population in the U.S, they account for over 80% of terrorism-related arrests.

Compare Dr. Jasser's point of view with the contrarian argument expressed by Corey Saylor, the chief lobbyist of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), who stated that Dr. Jasser's film (The Third Jihad) exploits America's fear of terrorism, and by extension, the fear of Muslims. In the documentary, Saylor stated, "I think Zuhdi Jasser validates the arguments of the Islamophobes. And he gives them cover so that they can say their bias, and their discriminatory statements, and try to pass their discriminatory laws. And they can say, see, a Muslim supports us."
