You can move the video forward by scrolling through the transcript provided and clicking on the spot where you want to begin. There are different population choices so that you can choose the one you are most interested in or the one that resonates closely with your field work.

These videos they can be very long. One tip is to go to the settings wheel and speed up the playback to 1.25 or 1.50 if that makes it more manageable to you, however make sure you can follow what is being presented.

The first is 13 minutes and is focused on children. Children enjoy the positive feelings that come with mastery, especially around tough situations at home and at school. In light of their playful nature and proven efficacy, Solution Focused Therapy techniques are particularly appealing to them, easy to learn, and to teach. Here we see the worker help a young client problem-solve by masterfully using the miracle question, scaling, and seeking exceptions to the problem. By integrating these techniques into your own work with children, they will grow in confidence and competence solving problems at home, in school, and on the playground.
The second is about 12 minutes and presents a young client. Many clinicians may be tempted to utilize complex and lengthy family interventions, withchildren simple, engaging, and creative solution-focused techniques may be all that is necessary. In this scenario, the worker skillfully and engagingly demonstrates core Solution Focused Techniques such as scaling, exceptions to the problem, and the miracle question with Ella. You will watch her learn problem solving skills she can use with her siblings, and that you can apply in your own work with pre-teen clients.

3. Visit the WSSW/YU Library and search under data bases for psychotherapy.net, then search for: IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES: A SOLUTION-FOCUSED APPROACH TO MARITAL THERAPY by Insoo Kim Berg
When couples come to therapy they are often combative, quick to point the finger, and about to give up on the relationship. In this video, Insoo Kim Berg demonstrates her approach with one such couple, and in two sessions shows how effective it can be to focus a couple on their strengths and resources, moving them away from fighting and towards collaboration. Leslie is angry with her husband, Bill, for working long hours and neglecting her and the children. Bill is struggling to support his family and believes Leslie doesn't appreciate or trust him. Insoo Kim Berg uses techniques to focus this fiery and argumentative couple on solutions, and bring their mutual commitment to the relationship and family to the forefront.
