Assignment - Business Purpose of Metal Cutting Shears & Job Hazard Analysis Paper

Part 1 - Your organization recently purchased a large, metal shearing machine. You have been asked to identify the hazards of operating this equipment and make recommendations of ways to control the hazards. Determine at least one control strategy from each level of the hierarchy of controls (elimination, substitution, engineering, administrative, personal protective equipment). Select the control or combination of controls that you feel would be most effective. Explain the reasoning for your choices. Your response must be at least 300 words in length.

Part 2 - If you have taken part in a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), briefly describe how it was conducted. Was the job broken into steps with a risk level assigned to each? Describe how that supported or hindered the JHA process in your opinion. Provide examples to support your opinion.
