Explain the meaning of this statement. If I am a suspect in a criminal case, and I accept the prosecutor's offer of a plea bargain, is my choice of free, or is it coerced?

Supposed that I am charged with first-degree murder, but I am entirely innocent of the charge. The prosecutor offers a deal. If I plead guilty to second-degree murder, then the prosecutor will not charge me with first-degree murder. I accept the offer and plead guilty. Was my acceptance of the plea bargain a free choice? Why? Why not?
