One pea plant is heterozygous, with tall stalk with white flower (heterozygous for both traits) and the second pea plant is homozygous, with short stalk and purple flowers (homozygous for both traits). We are interested in producing a pea plant with tall stalk and purple flowers.
a. Using genetic syntax write the cross, the gametes produced by the parent plants, phenotypic table (what is the dominant allele?), the phenotype of interest (mentioned above) and the possible genotypes for the phenotype of interest. Annotate clearly.
b. Draw a Punnett square and including all the genotypes and the phenotypes produced by the cross.
c. Based on the Punnett square, assess what is the probability of getting tall plant with purple flowers produced by the cross of the two plants that were crossed?
