This is a general question, nothing is missing, and no data is needed. Please read my statement ???below about Visionary and Transformational Leaders and let me know in detail why you agree or disagree with my statement.
Steve Jobs, former Apple's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is an ideal example of a transformational leader. During his tenure at Apple, he showed the four elements of transformational leadership. In particular, he had attributes that employees emulated and used constant meetings to communicate about targets and inspire employees to meet them. Additionally, he had an eye for design, the ability to imagine new products, and new ways of conducting business. Further, he engaged his followers by embracing their suggestions and helping them develop tangible ideas (Steinwart & Ziegler, 2014). Through Steve Job's leadership, Apple transformed from a failure to a market leader in the technology industry.
Unlike Steve Jobs, Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic's CEO is a visionary leader. He is a "big-picture" or forward thinker depicted by his ability to set clear standards and inspire employees with a sense of shared mission. In particular, he encourages his followers to articulate the firm's vision and objectives by fostering a reliable collaboration among them (Bruijl, 2018). Additionally, he is a strong believer of one's vision for their business to be so broad that it extends a team's imagination. However, Branson insists that the vision should never curtail satisfying employees' and customers' needs. Indeed, Richard Branson's visionary leadership gives him the confidence to successfully venture into new industries.
Finally, Sam Walton, Walmart's founder and CEO, was a transformational and visionary leader. During Walmart's inception, Sam Walton had the vision to take it global and stock the stores with the maximum number of affordable items. Through his vision of selling commodities at the lowest prices, Walmart has gained the biggest market share in the retail industry, enabling it to expand rapidly to new global markets (Bjelland & Wood, 2015). Additionally, Sam Walton was charismatic, which helped him to amass strong attraction from followers, enhance employees' self-conception, and express a compelling vision for Walmart (Bjelland & Wood, 2015). These qualities played a crucial role in transforming Walmart from a single store into the giant retail business it is today.
