Debate: Debate: Clearly explain why the selected Vision Statement is effective or ineffective.

Vision Statements

GM’s vision is to be the world leader in transportation products and related services. We will earn our customers’ enthusiasm through continuous improvement driven by the integrity, teamwork, and innovation of GM people.

GM's vision should inspire their employees to strive to be the best in their industry. The first sentence is explicit in what the company wants to achieve; GM wants to be the leader in transportation products and the supporting services. The second sentence uses key words, such as "earn", "enthusiasm", and "continuous", to define how they want to be viewed by their customers. The last part shows how they expect their associates to complete their vision with integrity, teamwork, and innovation. I think GM has an effective vision statement because it states the overall goal of earning the designation of world leader by a moral team driven to constantly improve with a high level of enthusiastic teamwork.
