There are many reasons to use virtualization in a corporate or business environment. The benefits are numerous and well presented in the literature. But there are incentives to use virtualization in a small office or even on home computers. For this discussion research some of the benefits of virtualization for a home or a small office. Answer the following questions:

  • How would you use virtualization for your personal computer needs? What advantages would you have in setting up one or more virtual machines for your home use?
  • Under what conditions would physical servers be more advantageous in a small office with only 1 or 2 servers?
