One of the many solutions to be considered in addressing the tuberculosis (TB) crisis in India is security and surveillance. Private hospitals lack basic surveillance which has been known to lead to patients not receiving the care they need or leaving the premises without medical approval (Balakrishnan et al., 2021). When patients infected with TB leave the hospital or facility, the disease then gets spread to many others. Another possible solution emphasizes the importance of nutrition. It has been proven that TB in India mainly occur in those with suppressed cell mediated immunity caused by a poor nutritional status (Shaji et al., 2019). A major factor that might prevent the implementation of adequate security surrounding hospitals and medical treatment facilities would be the cooperation of the owners of said facilities. A barrier that could affect improving the nutritional status oof patients and the general public could be access to resources. India has a warm climate and therefore, many fruits that cannot grow in hot climates must be imported. It may be difficult for certain areas or villages and towns to gain access to nutritious foods that can boost their immune system.
