Question

Our society commonly clashes over limited resources. Conflict theorist view societal institutions as mechanisms of social control. In that, they view institutions as a tool that creates significant inequality and class differences in our society. For this discussion post you will need to identify a significant social issue (i.e., homelessness, mental health, teenage pregnancy, poverty, substance abuse/addiction) and how this social issue is viewed by opposing sides. Once you have identified your two social groups you will need to address the following questions: From a Conflict perspective how would you view and describe the social issue you identified? In reference to your identified social issue what groups of people would be most likely to adopt the Conflict perspective?
