A victim who works at a casino reports she is robbed by a suspect with scissors. He steals a significant amount of silver dollars. She gives the direction the suspect fled after the robbery. Police follow footprints in the snow to a local business. The officers give the owner of the business a description of the robber and to watch for anyone using a lot of silver dollars. Two hours later, the owner calls and says two guys used a lot of silver dollars to pay for some items. Police get a description of the car driven by the two men.

Two hours after that, police spot the car. Police stop the car but it only has one occupant. Police ask where the other man is and the driver says he dropped off his passenger who is now in room 10 of the Willow Acres Motel. Five hours after the robbery, the police enter the room without consent and arrest the defendant. A search of the suspect finds numerous silver dollars in his possession. He is later identified as the robber and is charged with Armed Robbery.
