We see each person had a very strong hand in the direction taken by GE. Each strategic decision led to new opportunities/threats in future years; the same decisions also eliminated potential options in those future years. After all for each investment decision made, their are opportunity costs. To do A, you eliminate the opportunity to do B. Resources can only stretch so far. Let's turn our attention to Jeffrey Immelt in 2015. What are his threats/opportunities? Considering the looming cash influx resulting from the divestiture of the bulk of GE Capital by 2018, what steps would you recommend be taken to properly plan the next strategic investments for the company?

(Don't feel you need to specify the industries for investment. I am more concerned with HOW you get to the decisions, not the decisions themselves.)
