Services can pose a variety of managerial challenges for managers. These challenges are either much less or nonexistent in manufacturing. And because services companies represent an increasing share of the economy, this places added importance on understanding and dealing with the challenges of managing services. Think of a service organization you are familiar with. (You can think of a hospital if you like.)
