Global companies share something in common. They manage complex value streams through the design and implementation of supply chain management processes. Understanding how value chains and supply chain management are different but interdependent is important to the effectiveness of supply chain management professionals.

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper that addresses the following:

  • Select a company which you are familiar with or one you would like to research.
  • Identify the company's value chain components and differentiate between its global and domestic value streams. 
  • Identify and discuss two major global changes impacting the global value chain environment.
  • Compare and contrast the supply chain versus the value chain with specific examples and discuss why there are differences.
  • Include illustrations such as value stream and supply chain maps to further describe the flow of information and the product.
