A freshman in college wanted to estimate the average weight gain of freshmen during their first year in college. She randomly selected 43freshmen during the first week of school at the beginning of the year and weighed them. During finals week of the last term of the year, she weighed the same 43 students. She recorded the weight change of each- a positive value indicated a weight gain while a negative value indicated a weight loss during the year. The sample mean, x over bar x,was 11.1 pounds. Assume is 2.7 pounds and that all conditions are satisfied for inference to all college freshmen.
