Utilizing person first vocabulary in everyday language is critical to ensure the personal rights and dignity of all individuals regardless of it they have a disability or not. Legislation was created to ensure person-first language is the expected norm. Grandma Doris comes to join the conversation Scott, Ann and their cousin Tim are having. Grandma Doris asks, "Well, have they figured out what is wrong with Mark? Bless his heart, he seems like one of those IEP kids."
