Object-oriented analysis (OOA) is a software engineering method used to analyze and design software systems using objects, classes, inheritance, and polymorphism concepts. Here are some advantages and disadvantages of using the object-oriented analysis method: A big advantage with using object-oriented analysis is the time that is saved when using modular objects, the transition to changing into code is smoother also reusable program modules is a plus and there are less errors. By using encapsulation object-oriented analysis limits access to internal processes which equates to better security. Another benefit is the use of polymorphism where the same symbol or message or command can have different meanings to the object, as the text describes the message "Goodnight" to parent object means read a book but to child object it means go to sleep. Cons of the object-oriented analysis are its hard for some people to follow the communication messages between objects which affect the ability to reuse them. There is a low standardization level so using it with any legacy system is hard. The object-oriented analysis programs are expensive.
