A diverging/negative lens has a focal length of -12 cm. A 6.0 cm object is placed at several locations relative to the lens. The locations are (a) 55 cm, (b) 12 cm, and (c) 8 cm from the lens. For each object location near the mirror complete the following tasks.

1. The ray diagram.

2. State whether the image is real or virtual.

3. State whether the image is upright/erect or inverted.

4. State whether the image is enlarged, reduced or the same size as the object.

5. Use the thin lens equation to calculate the image distance.

6. Compute the magnification.

7. Decide the image height.
