Q. A rock with mass m = 3.70 kg falls from rest in a viscous medium. The rock is acted on by a net constant downward force of F = 19.3 N (a combination of gravity and the buoyant force exerted by the medium) and by a fluid resistance force f=kv, where v is the speed in m/s and k = 2.32 N x s/m.

Q. Mike and Scott are playing tug-of-war. After a five minute struggle Mike wins. Explain why Mike won, referencing the forces on Mike, on Scott, and on the rope. Use Newton's First and Second Laws of Motion in supporting your answer.

When your diagram is complete explain why Mike won.
