Lab Test Results Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 300 mg/dL (0.3 g/dL) The nurse obtains a urine drug screen and blood alcohol concentration per the physician's orders. The results are called to the ED. Highlight the actions the nurse will perform immediately. . Urine Drug Screen (UDS) Negative for: amphetamines, methamphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, marijuana, cocaine Positive for: opioids, nicotine, alcohol . . . . . Start intravenous infusion of 0.9% normal saline 200 mL/hour. Administer naloxone 0.4 mg IM. Refer to clinical dietician. Administer oxygen 2 L/min per nasal cannula. Place client on seizure precautions. Insert indwelling urinary catheter.
