Question

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection in any part of the urinary system. The urinary system includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. Urine is a byproduct of your blood-filtering system, which your kidneys perform. kidneys create urine when they remove waste products and excess water from your blood. The urine usually moves through your urinary system without any contamination. However, bacteria can get into your urinary system, which can cause UTIs. Most infections involve the lower urinary tract - the bladder and the urethra. Moreover, UTIs are very common, especially in women, where about 20% will have a UTI at some point during their lives. Men can also get UTIs, as well as children, though they only affect 1% to 2% of children. Healthcare providers treat 8 million to 10 million people each year for UTIs.

Consider the following scenario: During a discussion with the colleagues, they relay symptoms resembling a bacterial urinary tract infection. However, due to the adherence to a prevalent misconception about UTIs, they are reluctant to consult a healthcare professional.

Given your knowledge on the causes of UTIs and after researching commonly recognized myths, how can you persuasively motivate them to seek medical attention?
