Scenario:

You are an HR manager looking to progress your career and you have two new job opportunities that both interest you a lot - both opportunities include an equal increase in pay and have the same benefits. In the first opportunity, you would be moving to a much bigger company and thus your title would be more junior than your current role. You would no longer be in charge of the team or have decision making power at the managerial level. However, you would have the most experience on the team, even more that the team manager, and the current team manager seems supportive of you sharing your experience with the team and him. Plus, the company really seems to like you and thinks that with your experience and your leadership style that you could move up in the company and be a Vice President someday. In your second opportunity, you would be moving to a smaller company where you would become the Director. As a director you would be in charge of hiring, disciplining, motivating and firing employees. This would also include being in charge of all HR policy decisions, including updating the company HR policy and implementing a new rewards plan.
