Interior designers maintain that blue is the universal favorite hue of most people. An interior designer believes that adults 25 to 39 years old are less strong in their preference for blue as a favorite hue compared to the preference for blue as a favorite hue of adults 40 to 59 years old. A random survey of 430 adults 25 to 39 years old showed that 292 chose blue as their favorite hue, and a random survey of 245 adults 40 to 59 years old showed that 180 chose blue as their favorite hue. Do these data support the interior designer's belief? Use α = .10.
