Aim & Objective
This coursework is designed to demonstrate the broad understanding and knowledge of the module, assessing and evaluating the student's strength and level of analysis; divided into four learning outcomes. The coursework should be submitted as one document in a report format in final submission.
Assignment Scenario:
You have recently joined an online and IT training Solution Company (select an organisation of this type), which is outstanding in building high-quality online certification and training courses designed specifically for organizations and professionals worldwide.
Initially, you have been hired as a Junior IT Trainer as you have a college qualification in IT and wanted to pursue a career in training and teaching; however, the company is planning to grow the customer base and requested every employee to engage in the marketing and commercial function of the organisation and contribute to new business development. You will be involved in different projects and tasks. Projects might include creating corporate events to engage with potential customers as well as internal events to improve teamwork and employee engagement.
Based on the above scenario write a report that should fulfil the following requirements:
LO1
Your first responsibility will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and communication skills as you have been asked to assist in planning, organising a 2-day seminar and delivering a presentation for senior executives in 8 weeks and you should demonstrate your effective time management skills by reporting your decisions and progress on a daily basis.
The first weekly report must include a plan for the event with the design of a professional schedule with contingencies and justified time allocation.
The experience of designing, planning and delivering your first training event should give you the opportunity to link, meet and work with a range of different people where you can apply and test how effective are your interpersonal skills. Therefore, this is a great chance for you to include in your weekly report an evaluation of the effectiveness and application of your interpersonal skill during this experience.
Note: You should attach all the supporting documents as a separate file in the appendix section of your assignment. Without appropriate evidence(s) your assignment will not be marked.
• Email to your manager to report your progress
• Relevant email to other stakeholders (employees, suppliers, venue, etc)
• Professional schedule and weekly planning of the event for 8 weeks
• Agenda for the 2-day seminar including the topic you are presenting
LO2
As a learning lesson for you and for the organisation, it is expected that you include some of the key challenges or problems you faced during the design and delivery of the event and demonstrate how you overcame each of them through the research and the use of different problem-solving techniques, justifying the range of solution methodologies that you used.
Your demonstration should be particularly focused on the critical reasoning you applied for the solution as well as the different techniques that you used. You should also consider criticising the whole process of applying critical reasoning to these particular challenges.
LO3
During the seminar, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team on the creation and delivery of a presentation to the senior manager team. It is expected that the group explain and assess how the team worked together for the preparation of the presentation. The discussion should be around the concept of team dynamics and its importance in the success or failure of group work. A professional presentation should include a deep analysis of the topic in terms of the role group play in a team and also the effectiveness in terms of achieving shared goals. It is expected that you provide a critical evaluation of your own role and contribution to a group scenario.
LO4
Having done a full preparation and delivery of this event, you have probably realised or became aware of your strengths and your weaknesses for this new position as well as the opportunities you have to improve your performance within the workplace. It is now time for you to discuss how important is CPD for your success and what is its real contribution to your own learning and produce your own professional CPD which outlines responsibilities, performance objectives and required skills, knowledge and learning for own future goals. It is always recommended to discover what our personal drive is and/or what truly motivates us; for this reason, it is very important to have a good understanding of the motivational theories. Therefore, you should compare and contrast different motivational theories and the impact they can have on performance within the workplace. Finally, it will be important for you to be able to measure your progress of your CPD, thus, to evaluate a range of evidence criteria used to measure effective CPD.
